Hon. Janet K Museveni, Minister of Education and Sports, releasing the December 2025 Uganda Health Professions Assessment Board (UHPAB) assessment results for health and allied professionals.
Health professionals urged to serve with patriotism, care, compassion, and innovation.
On Friday, 6 March 2026, Hon. Janet K Museveni, First Lady, who is also the Minister of Education and Sports, called upon health professionals to serve with patriotism, care, compassion, and innovation.
She made this call while releasing the December 2025 Uganda Health Professions Assessment Board (UHPAB) assessment results for health and allied professionals at State House, Nakasero.
The minister observed an 11.2% performance increase among certificate candidates and expressed hope that it would result in improved service delivery at Uganda’s health facilities.
In her message to the trainees whose results were released, the First Lady asked them to consider the training as a calling, not merely an academic achievement acquired to build their careers.
She further reminded trainees that they have been entrusted with the responsibility to serve with patriotism, care, compassion, and innovation.
“I charge you with Colossians 3:23-24: whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” She added.
The Minister also noted a 22.8% increase in the number of students undertaking Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) courses, something she says is key in promoting employment, entrepreneurship, and self-reliance.
The released assessment results are for nurses, midwives, laboratory technologists, pharmacists, physiotherapists, and radiologists who are evaluated by UHPAB, which was created following the merger of the Uganda Allied Health Examinations Board (UAHEB) and the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Examinations Board (UNMEB).
This release is the second assessment series conducted by UHPAB since the merger. In this release, a total of 19,042 candidates were assessed, with 5,377 at diploma level and 13,665 at certificate level.
By practice and law, candidates whose assessment results have been released are not allowed to practice before registering and obtaining practicing licenses from their respective professional regulatory councils, such as the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council for nurses and midwives, the Uganda Allied Health Professions Council for laboratory technicians, radiologists, and the Pharmacy Board for pharmacists.
